This is a list of what DVSA’s Content Design team worked on during March 2017, and what we plan to do next.
It's divided into lists of new or updated content we've designed and published, existing content we're significantly improving, and what we plan to do during April 2017.
New or updated content
To meet the needs of users, we have:
- designed and published DVSA's strategy for 2017 to 2022, which sets out the work we'll do to help you stay safe on Britain's roads
- published DVSA's business plan for 2017 to 2018, and updated our 'about us' page on GOV.UK to reflect our priorities for the coming year
- updated the penalties table in The Highway Code on 1 March 2017 to reflect the increased penalties for using a hand-held mobile phone when driving
- moved the active MOT stations dataset to GOV.UK, and updated data.gov.uk to link to the new content
- updated the 'Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) for lorries: help to get a pass’ guide
- published the latest MOT special notice that tells MOT testers they need to complete their annual training and assessment
- updated the driving test data sets by test centre with data to December 2016
- updated the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualification and training dataset with data to February 2017
- updated the guidance for driving examiners carrying out driving tests
- updated the drink-drive rehabilitation scheme data set with data to December 2016
- published a research report about the impact of replacing the approved driving instructor (ADI) part 3 test
- added Bridget Rosewell OBE, DVSA's first non-executive chair, to our management section on GOV.UK
Improved content
To do a better job of making government work for users, we have:
- continued work to replace the guide to maintaining roadworthiness and other related guidance with a single guide on keeping lorries, bus and coaches safe to drive - we're currently working through fact check feedback
- updated the content on about our services and complaints procedures to provide better information about service levels and service standards
Things we plan to do next
In April 2017, we expect to:
- publish the MOT annual training syllabus for 2017 to 2018
- update the ‘Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) for vans: help to get a pass’ guide - the second in the series of 6 guides
- create videos about our strategy to help you stay safe on Britain’s roads
- continue with our current improvement work
